What is pain recovery coaching?
Pain recovery coaching helps you retrain your brain and nervous system to reduce or eliminate chronic pain (like back, neck, or joint pain) — and other persistent symptoms such as anxiety, fatigue, or dizziness that may be generated by the brain and nervous system.
I use tools from Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT), a neuroscience-based method that teaches the brain to interpret safe signals from the body more accurately, reducing the “false alarm” of pain.
Chronic symptoms often continue not because something is wrong with the body, but because the brain has learned to misinterpret neutral sensations as dangerous.
Coaching helps you reverse that process. Together, we shift how your brain and body respond, so you can build safety, trust, and lasting relief.

How is this different from therapy or physical therapy?
Psychotherapy often focuses on emotions or past trauma.
Physical therapy focuses on the body.
My coaching is different — it focuses on the brain-body connection, helping you retrain how your nervous system interprets pain.
I’m not a therapist or a medical provider. Instead, I use tools from Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT), a neuroscience-based approach grounded in neuroplasticity — the brain’s ability to change and rewire itself.

What kinds of symptoms or conditions do you work with?
I work with people experiencing chronic pain and other persistent symptoms that may be brain-generated — including back, neck, or shoulder pain; sciatica or radiating leg pain; migraines and tension headaches; pelvic or abdominal pain; fibromyalgia; chronic fatigue; muscle or joint pain; and nerve symptoms such as tingling or numbness.
If your symptoms are medically unexplained, shift over time, or flare with stress or emotion, there’s a good chance this approach can help.
You can see the full list of symptoms and conditions on the Conditions page.
I’ve already tried Curable, Dan Buglio’s videos, and Alan Gordon’s work. How is this different?
I love those tools — they were a big part of my own recovery.
But what made the biggest difference for me wasn’t just knowing what to do — it was learning how to apply it consistently.
That’s where coaching helps. I offer personalized guidance, feedback, and support to help you integrate these tools in a way that truly rewires your nervous system.
Honestly, I believe I would have recovered faster if I’d worked with a coach myself.
What if I’ve had pain for decades?
Yes — it’s still possible to heal.
Chronic pain is often a learned pattern in the brain, which means it can be unlearned — even after many years.
My own symptoms lasted more than 30 years before I began to see real change.
Neuroplasticity doesn’t expire.
What if I’ve had imaging that shows a structural issue?
Many clients come to me after being told their MRI shows things like disc degeneration, arthritis, or nerve impingement — and understandably assume that means their pain must be structural.
But research shows these changes are extremely common, even in people without pain.
My lumbar MRI shows disc bulges, bone spurs, facet joint arthritis, vertebral slippage, neuroforaminal narrowing — and scoliosis. Still, my pain resolved.
Why? Because the issue wasn’t the structure — it was the brain’s learned fear response. Once I retrained that pattern, everything changed.
How long does it take to see results?
Every journey is different.
Some people notice shifts in symptoms, fear levels, or overall quality of life within a few weeks. For others, it’s more gradual.
Recovery isn’t always linear, but it is possible — and I’ll support you step by step as your brain and body learn to feel safe again.
Does this actually work?
Yes — and it’s backed by strong research.
Pain Reprocessing Therapy was tested in a randomized controlled trial published in JAMA Psychiatry.
98% of participants improved
66% became pain-free or nearly pain-free
Results held up a year later
Many clients come to this work after years of trying everything else — and finally begin to see real change.
Is this approach right for me?
This work is especially helpful if your symptoms:
Persist beyond normal healing time
Shift or move around
Are made worse by stress or emotion
Don’t fully match your imaging
Haven’t responded to structural treatments

Or explore whether your symptoms match neuroplastic patterns with the Pain Test.
Can I do this alongside other treatments or providers?
Yes. This work can complement physical therapy, medical care, psychotherapy, acupuncture, and more.
Often, clients find other treatments become more effective when fear decreases and the nervous system calms.
Do you take insurance?
No — coaching isn’t covered by insurance.
